Monday Morning PR Minute ⏱️Your weekly dose of PR inspiration | Read time: 1 minute | Hi Reader, I was scrolling LinkedIn last week and saw someone say that if you're in PR, you're basically a journalist's assistant. That's exactly right. It has never been harder to be a journalist. A friend of mine spent the first part of her career in newsrooms and says there's no way she could do the job today - the deadlines are tighter, the inboxes are flooded with AI-generated pitches, and there simply aren't enough hours to get through it all. This Week’s Quick PR Tip: Make Every Reporter's Job Easier, Not HarderWorking with the media is a two-way street. You want coverage. They want a story that doesn't require extra work to pull together. So give them what makes their job easier: approved quotes, images and b-roll, data/stats, client stories that show real impact, and spokespeople who are prepped and easy to reach. Think about the difference between a colleague asking "can you post something about Saturday's event?" and one who says "can you post about Saturday? I've got the copy and images ready to go." One creates work, the other removes it. That's the standard we hold ourselves to with every reporter we work with. It doesn't guarantee coverage, but it earns something almost as valuable - a reporter who remembers you as someone who makes their lives easier. If a reporter reached out to you today, could you get them what they need in an hour? A day? Longer? Tell me where you land. I've had two client conversations this month around this same thing. One had bad news to share with the people they serve and kept rewriting the message until it barely said anything. For another client, we were pitching a feel-good story, but they wanted us to...
